To deploy Kaviza is simple: just load the Kaviza VDI-in-a-boxTM appliance on any commodity server with a supported hypervisor, and you are ready to provision and manage virtual desktops.

The virtual desktops can be accessed from either a browser or via the Kaviza Desktop Client — a standalone zero-install lightweight Java application that provides access to Kaviza desktops without requiring a browser. The Kaviza Desktop Client is included free-of-charge with the Kaviza VDI-in-a-box appliance. The Kaviza Desktop Client can be run in a kiosk mode to always load a specific virtual desktop at an end-point. This is especially useful in public areas such as libraries that wish to provide kiosks, labs and other locked down environments.

The Kaviza Gateway can be used to provide users secure remote access to Kaviza virtual desktops sitting behind a firewall. The Gateway can be used to provide employees secure access to their desktops from home, or any place with an internet connection. The Kaviza Gateway uses SSL-tunnelling and eliminates the need for a VPN.
